What the kids are doing...

It has been a while since I have given an update on what the kids are doing, how big they are getting. Patrick is 22 mo old. He is doing so many new things every day. He loves being outside and his vocabulary gets bigger every day. He protests loudly when we have to come inside. He rides his bike like a madman, prefers to be hauling something behind it (yesterday it was his lawnmower). He now says phrases, like "Mommy" followed by "big stick", "baby duck" or, his latest, "nice shoes!". He can work his puzzles and asks repeatedly to be read the same books over and over again. We've been working on helping with dressing and he can pretty neatly feed himself a bowl of yogurt, etc. He thinks we are hilarious, which is pretty entertaining. He is also into imitating, which is equally comical. He knows quite a few family members by name. He loves his Thomas videos and continues his love of anything with wheels. We are thinking of getting him a new bike and wagon for his 2nd birthday.

Lucy will be 15 weeks on Thurs. She is such a sweet baby. She seems to be falling more into a routine, going to bed last night at 7:30, waking twice to eat, and up for the day at 8. She is such a good napper -- giving us 4-5 hrs a day spread over 3 naps. Lucy has found her hands, which are very delicious. She sucks her thumb and bats at her little toys on her activity gym, which she is content under for 20 mins or more, depending on who is in her face :) She smiles all the time and even acts bashful. She is very curious. She is getting so big, her hair is getting longer and looks red in some light. Prefers her mother over anyone else, which is usually flattering, not so much at the end of the day!

Happy Easter!

Are we having fun yet???

Happy Easter!

We spent Easter up in Indy...and it was great! Patrick and Morgan colored Easter eggs on Saturday afternoon, found baskets in the morning, went to mass, and participated in a very competitive Easter egg hunt today with 200+ eggs hidden all over the yard! The kids did GREAT on the long drive to and from Indy. Check out the new album posted to the right...

Happy 30th Mommy!

Today was my big 30th birthday! Patrick is much more excited about the cookie cake than either Brian or I. Actually, I feel really good about this "big" birthday. I am fortunate to be at a really great place in my life -- a wonderful husband, healthy and happy children, and the comfort of living with very little stress or worries. God has been good to me.

Springtime!

What an absolutely beautiful day! The kids and I pretty much spent the entire day outdoors. Patrick was LOVING it -- we can already see that it is going to be a battle every night getting him to come in. We took a nice walk after dinner, thanks to the added daylight. Lucy had her 3 mo picture taken this morning, and she did a great job! We can't wait to see the proofs!

Playing

Patrick is being so nice, showing Lucy his tractor. He looks so confused to see her reaction of anything less than thrilled at something so totally cool!

Pretty in pink

Lucy doesn't really have enough hair to necessitate the headband, but she sure looks cute, doesn't she? She is having her 3 mo picture taken on Wednesday, on Mommy's big 3-0 birthday. Maybe she will give me the gift of big smiles! Hmmm, what should we wear? Probably something pink....:)

2 mo check up

Lucy received a good report this morning at her 2 mo check up, which really was more like a 3 mo check! She weighs 13 lbs 15 oz and is 24.5 inches tall. Of course, consistent with Patrick, she is in the 95th percentile for both! Dr. Goldman was impressed with her size despite her week long illness. What can we say, our kids like to eat! Her lungs sound GREAT, so we are dropping one of the medications. She will be on the other until April. We are now officially off precautions, so Lucy can re-enter the world without risk of infecting anyone else or getting sick again herself!

OUCH!

Doesn't this look HORRIBLE?? Patrick was dancing around after dinner in his diaper and socks (because we have to totally strip him after all meals) and slipped on the kitchen floor. You can guess what part of his body took the fall. Within seconds, this huge goose egg appeared. He honestly only cried for a few minutes, and once we determined he was fine, Brian said --- "Go get the camera!"

All grins!

Lucy has changed so much in the past few days, it's just amazing. You would never know that she was hospitalized last week, she's an even happier baby then she was prior to her illness. She is sleeping better, eating better, content just to hang out in her bouncy seat and check out her hanging toys. She also seems to be falling more into a schedule -- knock on wood -- including an earlier bedtime that allows Mommy and Daddy some time to ourselves in the evenings!
